In 2016, Jimmy took on a transformative project with the Sumatra Merang Peatland Project (SMPP), identifying the potential of this ecosystem to make a significant impact on climate action. With Forest Carbon as a partner, he played a pivotal role as a joint proponent in guiding the project through the Verra certification (codename 1899). Through continuous innovation and embracing new technologies, SMPP surpassed international standards, achieving the highest-ranking quality in Indonesia's carbon credit market.
SMPP earned prestigious accolades, including the Verra Lighthouse Project Award and an rated A from BeZero Carbon, recognizing the project's exceptional ecological impact and the high quality of its carbon credits.
